2001 Toyota Tundra Ran Out Of Fuel
2001 Toyota Tundra TRD 160000 miles Tundra is in the shop again this time for a failure to start issue.
2001 toyota tundra ran out of fuel. Acted like it was out of fuel gauge said 14 tank but i thought it stuck or something. Turn the key off and the on again and listen for a brief faint hum in the fuel tank. I do have the locking door to my fuel tank.
The gas cools the pump and running them dry kills them quick. Safer than a stash of gas cans in my garage. As stated above is the common issue.
Make sure there is fuel in the tank. The manufacturer did not warranty the air fuel sensor on his v-6 engine but they warranted the v-8 engines up to 80000 miles. The truck ran fine earlier in the day and when I tried to start it approximately 2 hours later while I was in a parking lot nothing.
Typically if you are heading up a hill or accelerating the engine may start to feel like it is just running out of steam. You probably have air in the lines if you have a carb spray some quick start into the carb and turn it over if it starts and then dies when the starting fluid has run out you probably need a fuel pump since the running of the car should have blown out any air that was in the line If your car is fuel injected loosen the bolt cap at the end of the injector line that supplies the fuel and tap the. When they dont have the proper pressure they cant run properly.
Up to about 50 on the TPS Idle is 17-18 and Full throttle is 82 it runs just fine. I have a 2001 Toyota Tundra 4X4 47 L 2UZ-FE engine VIN- Problem 1st started with the high speed fuel pump not running with the key ON. The consumer has had to replace the upstream and downstream sensors at his own expense.
Going to have to experiment and see if I can make it work this weekend. According to customer reports the Tundra can last up to 1000000 miles on the road. There could be a bad fuel pump.
